Many residents have contacted me with serious concerns about Labor’s plans to host the MotoGP in Victoria Park.
I share those concerns. I cannot support the removal of potentially hundreds more trees from the Adelaide Park Lands – including trees that are more than a century old.
The Government must release the full circuit design and provide much greater transparency about the impact of this project on Victoria Park and residents in the eastern suburbs.
Some residents have already been notified that construction work is expected to begin later this year, despite consultation on the project not yet commencing.

The Adelaide Park Lands are one of our city’s greatest assets and deserve to be protected. I voted against the North Adelaide Golf Course Bill – you can read my speech here – and, in the previous Parliament, introduced legislation to State Heritage list the Adelaide Park Lands to provide stronger protection against proposals such as this.
I will continue to advocate for the preservation and protection of our Adelaide Park Lands.
